What is Chain-of-Custody Certification?
Action Envelope's Chain of Custody (CoC) Certifications by the FSC & SFI indicate that we support responsible forestry. It means that we've passed rigorous external audits to prove our processes and procedures live up to the high standards set by these internationally-recognized associations.
What Does This Mean to Me and My Envelopes?
We've earned the right to offer our customers, if they desire, the use of FSC or SFI logos on their printed materials. We can document that the envelopes we sell have come from foresters who practice strict stewardship of the air, water, wildlife and indigenous populations from which they harvest.
In an effort to define sustain able forestry, a group of loggers, foresters, environmentalists and sociologists joined together in 1993, and became the first General Assembly to form the FSC. Since that time, their principles, criteria and standards for forest management have been applied in over 57 countries.

With a goal of improving industrial forest practices and reporting their results, the SFI had its genesis in 1994. Constantly evolving since, SFI is a fully independent organization whose focus is ensuring current needs are met without negatively impacting the future regarding forestry practices as they relate to environmental impact.
