Reviewing Your Proof

You must review and approve your proof before production begins

When you place your order, your uploaded file, or your online design file is reviewed for printability and a PDF proof is created for your approval. You will receive an e-mail notification once your proof is ready for review, or if we are not able to use your file. Please add prepress@actionenvelope.com to your approved sender list, so that our e-mails can get through to you.

Awaiting Proof

Once you upload or select a file to be used on your envelopes order, we begin to work on your order, and during this time, the status of your order is awaiting proof. You should expect your proof to be ready for review according to the production time selected:

  1. Standard Production
Proof is ready for review on the next business day.
  2. Rush Production
Proof ready the same business day, or the next morning, if ordered after 4:00PM.

Proof Ready for Review

When your proof is ready for review, you will receive an e-mail notification to login to the "My Account" section of the website. Once you login, click "review my proof". On the proof approval page you have the ability to accept or reject your proof. You may also subscribe to your RSS Order Status feed in the my account section to get order status updates as they happen.

Approving Your Proof

To review your proof you must have Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Reader, or Preview (Mac). Click "Review Your Proof" to open your proof. If that doesn't work, right-click the link, and choose "save target as" and save the file to your desktop. You should be able to click and open the file from your desktop.

Please review your proof very carefully. Be sure to check spelling, zip codes, ink color, and envelope size. We recommend printing out the PDF proof to see size, layout etc. Larger envelopes may be reduced when you print the proof.

  1. Envelope Color
The proof will not show envelope color, only the image to be printed.
  2. Printing Position
The proof shows position of printing on the size envelope you chose. Make sure the position of the printing is where you want it. If your printing should be on the flap, you should see the flap line.
  3. Ink Color
Keep in mind, the envelope color will affect the way ink colors look. The color on your screen will not exactly match the ink color when printed. We match colors according to the Pantone Matching System.

Proof Approved — What Next?

Once your proof has been approved your order moves into production. Production time for Standard Production is 5-7 business days, and 2 business days for Rush Production. The next e-mail you receive will be your shipment notification.

Rejecting Your Proof

If you find a problem with your proof, and want to make a change, please choose Reject Proof, describe the reason for rejecting the proof, in the comments box underneath. You cannot approve a proof and make changes. You can accept it as is only, with no changes. Any changes require you to reject the proof.

Proof Rejected — What Next?

If you reject your proof, we will review your rejection comments to learn how to proceed. It may be a small quick fix on our part, or you may choose to upload a new file. Just let us know in the rejection comments. We will post your new PDF proof and you will receive another e-mail notification to log in and review it.
